We’re very excited to announce that the final tasting workshop in our set at Dramboree this year will be run by one of our very favourite independent distilleries…
Springbank is a family-owned distillery located in Campbeltown, way down on the Kintyre peninsula. Once the whisky distilling capital of Scotland, Campbeltown is now home to just 3 distillers. Springbank punch above their weight though, hand-producing 3 different whiskies on site – Hazelburn, Springbank, and the more heavily peated Longrow.
Their production process is still vey much a traditional hands-on affair, and they’re one of the few distilleries in Scotland to still carry out the entire production process on campus: from malting right through to bottling! Fans of Springbank are some of the most devoted in the whisky world, and after tasting some of their excellent bottlings it’s not hard to understand why.
We’re very excited that they’ve agreed to come to Dramboree and share a tasting with us of some cask samples and tell us a bit more about what makes Springbank unique.
